ALBANY — Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the illegal entry of two Albany vehicles, officials say.

Eric Willis, 35, was observed around 8:50 a.m. Tuesday by an officer of Albany Police department breaking into a 2006 Chevrolet Impala in the 2200 block of Dawson Road, officials say. Police said he is a suspect in the entering of a 2009 Honda Civic on the same day.

According to Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the APD, the officer was responding to a call from an unnamed citizen who said he had seen Willis testing vehicle door handles in the same area to see if the vehicles were unlocked.

Willis was arrested and charged with two counts of entering auto and one count of criminal intent, Banks said.
