Former President Jimmy Carter is scheduled to teach Sunday School on Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains. The lesson will begin at 10 a.m., but doors to the church sanctuary will open at 8:30 a.m.


Vilulah Baptist Church in Coleman will conduct homecoming services Sunday featuring guest speaker Donna Blackburn. The Pachitla Creek Pickers will perform at 10 a.m. and Blackburn will speak at 11 a.m. The church will conduct revival services Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. each date. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Ben Crowdis.

Cray Chapel Church will host a four-day SWAG (Serving, Worshipping and Admiring God) Youth Explosion Wednesday through Saturday. Vacation Bible School will be conducted Wednesday and Thursday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the church, which is located at 1918 Oakhaven Drive. A youth revival is planned at 7 p.m. on July 25. On July 26, the church will host workshops and a block party beginning at 10 a.m. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

First Southern Methodist Church, located at 2510 Hilltop Drive, will host a movie night at 7 p.m. tonight. Adults will watch "Facing the Giants," and children will watch separate film. Popcorn and drinks provided; event is free. For more info, call (843) 616-2357.
