Willa Jean Brown
ALBANY - Ms. Willa J. Brown, age 66, of Albany, Georgia, was born in Moultrie, GA, on July, 1948. Ms. Brown will be greatly missed by her four (4) children and seven (7) grandchildren. Ms. Brown retired from a supervisory position with the Georgia Department of Human Resources, Division of Aging Services, in which she was in charge of eight (8) counties in the west area serving Baker, Calhoun, Early, Dougherty, Lee, Miller, Seminole, and Terrell Counties. Ms. Brown is a 1990 graduate of Albany State University and earned the Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Ms. Brown accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was an active member at Greater Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Ms. Brown leaves behind her precious memories and love to her four (4) wonderful children: Gladys Jean Cooper-Schlosser, Alfred C. Cooper, Jr., Kimberly L. Thompson, and Herbert L. Brown, III; two (2) sisters: Joan Faciane and Mary Small; and one (1) brother: Charles DeLaney.
Funeral services for the late Ms. Willa Jean Brown, who departed this life Monday, July 21, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital will be held Friday, July 25, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. from the New Dimension Olive South Church, 2505 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Albany, Georgia with Pastor, Rev. Lorenzo L. Heard, officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside/Oakview Cemetery, 200 Cotton Avenue, Albany, Georgia. Her remains will lie in state at the church Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour. The family of Ms. Willa Jean Brown will receive relatives and friends at 1409 South Carolina Avenue, Albany, Georgia. Meadows Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
