Albany-Dougherty NAACP to give school supplies to 50 students

The organization stressed that parents must call today to register their children for the supplies.

ALBANY — The Albany-Dougherty branch of the NAACP will again be providing school supplies to needy children when the organization provides 50 supply kits to students this weekend.

The organization stressed in a news release that was “important for the parent of each student who will be receiving these supplies to pre-register by calling the office of the NAACP” at (229) 432-7941 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. today. NAACP officials say the supplies are limited and will be given to “the first 50 qualified students who have been pre-registered by a parent.”

Students picking up the supplies should be accompanied by a parent, officials said.

The organization said that the kits will be distributed 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at the office of the Albany-Dougherty NCAAP at 136 N. Magnolia St.
