Yvonne Rowe Cook-Tumblin
ALBANY – Mrs. Yvonne Rowe Cook Tumblin was born October 9, 1950 to the late Frank Rowe and the late Maxine Dawson Rowe in Albany, Georgia.
She attended Dougherty High School and later graduated from Essex County College in Newark, New Jersey. She was employed as a Certified nursing Assistant.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her first husband Clifford Cook and later marries John Henry Tumblin.
She passed away on July 27, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.
Yvonne leaves to cherish her precious memory four sons Charles (Michele) Boyington, Darren Rowe, Kendrick (Dione) Atkins and Kevin (Shantell) Cook; seven daughters, Sondra (Vernon) Rowe-Mathis, Tammi Atkins, Sophia (Sean) Everett, Sherry (James) Lavant-Thomas, Markisha (Alonzo) Jones, Rochelle (Randall) Kemp and Angel Cook her youngest; six brothers, Frank (Betty) Rowe, Horace Rowe, Benjamin (Angela) Rowe, John (Delphin) Rowe, Rodney Rowe and Fredrick Rowe; two sisters, Ann Blige and Elizabeth Rowe; 37 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. A special aunt Deloris Rowe and cousin Beverly Pittman.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM at US 19 Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Brother John Floyd will officiate. Remains will be cremated following the funeral services. Visitation will be held today, Friday, August 1, 2014 from 9:00 AM until 8:30 PM at M. L. King Southside Chapel, 1908 M. L. King, Jr. Drive. The family will receive friends at 500 Bonney View Avenue.
