Store manager hits the roof to raise funds

Goal of $5,000 set for children’s Mirable Network Hospital

ALBANY _ Phoebe is the regional Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in Southwest Georgia. In an effort to raise even more funds for CMN projects in the area, the hospital is partnering with the East Albany Walmart store on Saturday.

During the event, Joe Martinez, the store’s manager, will take his place on the roof of the building at 10 a.m. and will remain there until the goal of $5,000 is raised.

“Mr. Martinez’s willingness to do something like this is a huge statement to this store’s commitment to the betterment of the community,” said Amanda Biery, Phoebe’s CMN coordinator. “We are so grateful to work with them on this project. All the funds raised Saturday will go directly back into caring for the youngest patients in the Southwest Georgia area.”

Children’s Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children’s hospitals, including Phoebe, across North America. Each year, the 170 Children’s Miracle Network hospitals provide medical care, research and preventative education to help millions of children overcome diseases and injuries.
