ALBANY —Two people died Saturday in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Nelms Road and Stagecoach Road in Albany, police officials say. Identities of the deceased were still being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Dougherty County Police Department reports said a man driving a silver Dodge Ram SUV was traveling west on Nelms Road when a man driving a Ford F-150 truck apparently ran a stop sign at the Stagecoach Road intersection. The vehicles collided on the passenger side of the Dodge and the woman died at the scene, police said.
The driver of the Ford was injured and transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment. He received medical treatment, but died at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, Curry said.
A driver of the Dodge also was also injured, but his medical condition was not known, officers said.
The accident continues to be investigated.
