ALBANY — A Callaway Lakes residence has been selected as the Yard of the Month for June by the Daffodil Garden Club.

Marideane Maxwell, chair of the club’s monthly recognition program, said the home at 436 Martindale Drive, off Old Dawson Road, is owned by Pat and Ron Bradley.

“The Bradleys have lived in their home over 20 years, moving here from Columbus,” Maxwell observed. “The front door of the home showcases a large, beautiful wreath made by one of the daughters.”

She said that Ron Bradley puts in a great deal of time keeping the yards in shape.

“The outstanding yard is solely the work of Ron,” Maxwell said. “If he is at home, this is where you find him.

“Big, bold shrubs adorn the front of the home, as well as a center island. Pavers, stepping stones and gravel highlight a restful sitting area with a bench flanked by ferns on stands. The area is completed by rolled pine straw in all the beds.”

The combination has beautiful results, she said.

“If you like to see attention to detail, then you must see this yard,” Maxwell said.

Daffodil Garden Club officials say the monthly recognition is given out in the hope that it will inspire others to improve the appearance of their homes. The club accepts nominations from the public, who can contact Maxwell at 9229) 436-6888 with suggestions of homes that should be considered.

The Daffodil Garden Club meets at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Federated Garden Center at Fifth Avenue adjacent to Hilsman Park.
