BLAKELY- Hubert Lee Naramore, 91, passed away at his home in Cartersville, GA on Saturday, June 14 at 6:30 a.m. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, June 16 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home in Blakely, GA. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 17 at 4 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Stokes of Fort Gaines and Dr. Michael Warren officiating. Interment will follow in the church’s cemetery.

Mr. Naramore was born on September 1, 1922 in Shorterville, AL to the late Albert and Annie Lee Naramore. He worked on the family farm as a young boy with his siblings. During the Depression he worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps near Waycross, GA. He was drafted into the Army during World War II where he served in the European Theater with General Patton’s Third Army. He came home to farm for a few years in Early County, married Ruth Moore, and reared two children, Melanie and Darrell, and his granddaughter Tonya. Most of his life (42 years) he worked for Morris Tractor Company in Ft. Gaines, Georgia where his home was. He retired in 2000. In 2000, Hubert married Cherry Henson, originally of Ft. Gaines, and moved to Cartersville, GA where they have happily resided for the last fourteen years.

Mr. Naramore was a long time member of the Bethel Baptist church where he served as a deacon, Superintendent of Sunday School, and taught the Men’s Sunday School Class.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Moore Naramore; son Darrell LaDon Naramore, three brothers, Thomas Henry (Tom) Naramore, Edgar Wesley (Buck) Naramore, and Jackie Vondel (Cotton) Naramore; sisters, Mildred Naramore Toms and Ethel Naramore Harpe.

His survivors include his wife, Cherry Henson Naramore; a daughter, Melanie Naramore Palmquist and husband Toby of Lawrenceville, GA; step-daughter, Renee Altschul Miranda and husband Omar of Plainville, GA; step-son, Kendall Altschul and wife Suzanne of Marietta, GA, a brother, James Earl Naramore and wife, Faye of Titusville, FL; 4 grandchildren: Tonya, Connor, Adreana, Brittany; 4 step-grandchildren: Isabella, Jackson, Zoe and Olivia; and 6 great grandchildren. Hubert leaves behind many family members and friends who loved him dearly.
