We have had two individuals address basic personal responsibility as to behaving in public and avoiding problems. Now, I am not saying a violent response is condoned in any way.
However: “Most of these situations of road rage, intolerance of certain behaviors, or overzealous protection could be avoided. People simply need to practice courteous, considerate and understanding behavior instead of acting like the prudish, self-centered, egotistical jerks our society has become in pretty much all arenas of life.” (I don’t know the author, but it is close to what I remember.)
I know why so many people don’t want folks packing weapons. It might infringe on their right to behave like jerks. It might make the big guy think twice about bullying the little guy. It just might make one think about expressing an opinion about someone’s mother. As a Western writer once said, “An armed society is at least a polite society.”
I, for one, don’t worry too much about the folks legally carrying concealed. I worry about those carrying illegally, which probably amounts to more folks than the legal ones. For every 10 permit holders I know, maybe one actually carries once the newness wears off.
