Jim B. Butler, Jr.

CAMILLA -Jim B. Butler, Jr., 90, of Camilla, died Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Willson Hospice House in Albany.

Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Oakview Cemetery. Reverend Ken Meyers will officiate.

Born August 28, 1923 in Mitchell County, Mr. Butler was a farmer and member of Camilla United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Camilla High School and Riverside Military Academy and served with the U.S. Army

during WWII. Mr. Butler was a past president of Camilla Rotary Club; past director of Family Bank, Board Emeritus; past president of Georgia Hospital Association and served as Administrator of Mitchell County Hospital. He was also one of the founders of the Mitchell-Baker Service Center. Mr. Butler deeply loved his family, friends, community, and farm especially his horses. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Maie Shepard Butler.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Carolyn Crow Butler of Camilla; three daughters, Dena Stowers (Rob) of Auburn, AL, Pat Hale (David) of Roswell, GA, and Jenny Evers (Randy) of Albany, GA; grandchildren, Robert Stowers, Daniel Stowers, Chris Hale, Jenna Hale, Carolyn Evers , Cole Evers; and 4 great grandchildren. James “Bro” Silas was his faithful friend and farm companion.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mitchell-Baker Service Center, 65 Industrial Blvd., Camilla, Ga. 31730.
