ALBANY — The Dougherty Count Police Department has confirmed the arrest Monday of Aleck Johnson Jr. for interference with custody, according to Lt. Chad Kirkpatrick with the DCP.
Officers had responded Sunday to 3019 War Eagle Ave., where Shauntay Williams reported her 5-month-old child, Jadon Johnson, had been taken by the suspect. Williams told police her son was being cared for by relatives when Aleck Johnson, Williams’ former boyfriend, arrived at the residence and falsely claimed he had permission to take the child.
A lookout was issued for the suspect, including a description of Aleck Johnson, his age, weight and vehicle tag number. Around two hours after the lookout was issued, Johnson returned the child safely to the residence and then left the scene, Kirkpatrick said.
