ALBANY — At least three people were injured today in a two-car accident on Clark Avenue and Hill Road, police officials say. Capt. Tom Jackson with the Dougherty County Police Department said the accident took place around 11:30 a.m. when the driver of a Jeep Cherokee collided with a small Buick.
The driver and single passenger of the Buick appeared to have very serious injuries, according to Jackson, and were transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. At least one occupant of the Jeep was also hospitalized, Jackson said.
Neither the names nor medical conditions of the accident victims have so far been released, officials say.
According to Jackson, the driver of the Buick had been traveling on Hill Street and stopped at a stop sign at Clark Avenue. Jackson said the driver of the Buick apparently didn’t see the Jeep Cherokee traveling east on Clark Avenue, and when the Buick entered the intersection it was broadsided by the Jeep.
Jackson urged drivers to always look twice at intersections before proceeding.
“Over the past several years, it seems we’re seeing more and more of these type accidents,” Jackson said.
