ALBANY - Mr. Raymond Cary Barker, Jr, died Thursday, March 20, 2014 at his residence following a long illness.
His memorial service will be Sunday (today) at 4 PM in the Walden Chapel at First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends Sunday 3 to 4 PM in Walden Chapel.
Born in Albany, Mr. Barker was a 1972 graduate of Riverview Academy which his family helped found. At the age of 15 he started performing piano, organ and vocals professionally and studied music under four different private instructors. His biggest joy in performing was seeing the joy in people who appreciated hearing him play his music.
Mr. Barker dearly loved his family, pets and especially First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Cheri Barker ; brother, Rev. Jeff Barker and his wife Vickie; nieces Anna Griffin and her husband Josh, Hope Barker all of Baconton; uncle and aunt, Les and Earlone Persall, New port Richie, FL; special friends Jeff Poole, Putney, Tonia Helvik, Albany and Don Holcomb, Conyers.
