Melvin Furney Crosby
MOULTRIE- Melvin Furney Crosby, 92, of Albany, and formerly of Moultrie, died Friday, March 21, 2014 at Wynfield Park Nursing Home in Albany.
Funeral services were 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 24, 2014 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tony Haefs and Mr. Billy Tillman officiating. Interment followed in Hopewell Cemetery.
Her grandsons served as casketbearers.
Born September 4, 1921 in Pavo, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Furney and Lucy Coley Furney. She was a homemaker and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Elmon Crosby; two daughters, Shirley Stripling and Laywan Boozer; ten brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Crosby Cosper and husband Terry of Albany; one son, Jimmy DeLoache of Moultrie; eight grandchildren, Tony DeLoache, Mark DeLoache, Tim DeLoache, Andy Roberts, Jeff Roberts, Brad Roberts, Brian Cosper and Julie Hall; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Johnson Crain of Thomasville; several nieces and nephews.
Cobb Funeral Chapel was entrusted with arrangements.
