Public safety roundup for Albany and Dougherty County

ALBANY — The Albany Police Department responded to at least 26 incidents on Wednesday and the early hours of Thursday, available reports show. The incidents included:

— Aggravated assault on the 2200 block of Taft Street;

— Burglary on the 2200 block of Stratford Drive;

— Battery on the 1500 block of West Highland Avenue, the 2400 block of Nottingham Way and the 2300 block of Pearce Avenue;

— Driving on suspended license on the 100 block of Cordele Road;

— Lost or misplaced property;

— Criminal trespass on the 500 block of South Valencia Drive and the 1700 block of North Monroe Street;

— Theft of lost or misplaced property on the 2500 block of Dawson Road;

— Theft by taking on the 2200 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard, the 1500 block of Cordele Road and the 200 block of North Westover Boulevard;

— Theft by shoplifting on the 1000 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard, the 200 block of Cordele Road, the 2600 block of Dawson Road, the 500 block of North Slappey Boulevard and the 2000 block of North Slappey Boulevard;

— Wanted person on the 1000 block of Cedar Avenue;

— Entering auto on the 600 block of North Westover Boulevard and the 1700 block of Gillionville Road;

DOUGHERTY POLICE: The Dougherty County Police Department responded to at least 24 incidents on Wednesday. Calls included:

— Accidental damage on the 3500 block of Sylvester Road;

— Juvenile investigation on the 200 block of Virginia Avenue;

— Child molestation on the 2100 block of Habersham Road;

— Criminal trespass on the 2900 block of Thrasher Avenue;

— Theft on the 5400 block of Paulk Drive;

— Family violence on the 1900 block of South County Line Road and the 900 block of Parrish Street;

— Missing person recovered on the 3000 block of Woodridge Court;

— Traffic arrest on the 1500 block of South Mock Road;

ALBANY FIRE: The Albany Fire Department responded to at least 14 calls on Wednesday. Calls included unauthorized burning, motor vehicle accident, alarm system activations, grass fire, dumpster fire, gas leak, smoke detector activation, smoke from barbecue, trash fire, pecan orchard fire, shorted electrical equipment.

DOUGHERTY EMS: The Dougherty Emergency Medical Service responded to 46 calls on Wednesday. The calls included 38 medical calls, seven trauma calls and one stand-by for the Dougherty County SWAT response team.

The medical calls included six miscellaneous pain calls, four respiratory issue calls, three chest pain calls, three seizure calls, two diabetic issue calls, one faint call, one altered mental status call and 16 various medical calls.

The trauma calls included four auto accident victims, one fall and one assault.
