Public safety roundup for Albany and Dougherty County

ALBANY — The Albany Police Department responded to at least 28 incidents on Thursday and the early hours of Friday, available reports show. The incidents included:

— Criminal trespass on the 500 block of Swift Street, the 500 block of West Whitney Avenue, the 2500 block of South Washington Street and the 1600 block of Gardner Drive;

— Battery on the 1800 block of Hilltop Drive, the 600 block of Johnson Road, the 600 block of Sands Drive and the 600 block of 16th Avenue;

— Entering auto on the 800 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard, the 1200 block of Maryland Drive and the 200 block of Pine Avenue;

— Interfering with a city officer on the 2600 block of Erica Court;

— Aggravated assault on the 300 block of West Highland Avenue and the 400 block of West Society Avenue;

— Obstructing an officer on the 1700 block of East Broad Avenue;

— Burglary on the 400 block of Odom Avenue, the 300 block of West Roosevelt Avenue and the 600 block of West 4th Avenue;

— Criminal damage to property on the 2400 block of Brierwood Drive and the 600 block of West Mercer Avenue;

— Theft by taking on the 200 block of North Mock Road and the 1200 block of Dawson Road;

— Disorderly conduct on the 1900 block of Gillespie Avenue, the 1600 block of West Broad Avenue and the 600 block of Swift Avenue;

— Wanted person on the 2300 block of Harvey Street;

— Theft by shoplifting on the 1200 block of North Westover Boulevard;

— Public indecency on the 600 block of Swift Street;

ALBANY FIRE: The Albany Fire Department responded to at least 12 calls on Thursday. Calls included unauthorized burning, gas leak, shorted electrical equipment, authorized controlled burning, detector activations, downed power line and outside trash fire.

DOUGHERTY EMS: The Dougherty Emergency Medical Service responded to 44 calls on Thursday. The calls included 34 medical calls and 10 trauma calls.

The medical calls included seven chest pain calls, seven respiratory issue calls, two mental health calls, one faint, one seizure call, one OB/labor issue and 14 various medical calls.

The trauma calls included six falls, three auto accident victims and one assault.
