SAVANNAH — State House District 153 candidate Muarlean Edwards was a featured presenter at the recent School Social Workers Association of Georgia executive board meeting here.

Edwards, a former social worker in the Worth County School system who now serves as executive director of the Project S.H.I.E.L.D. stay-in-school program, shared personal experiences and offered tips on how to be an effective social worker during the SSWAG meeting, which was a precursor to the organization’s spring conference.

SSWAG’s stated mission is to improve the quality of services to students so as to enhance their individual and educational potential.

Edwards and outgoing Dougherty County School System board member Darrel Ealum are challenging incumbent Carol Fullerton for the House 153 seat.
