LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Care was excellent during nine-day hospital stay

I want to express my sincere gratitude to the staff at Phoebe Putney Hospital. I wish I could remember all the names, but I can’t. So I apologize to those I cannot name. Jamie and Lala on the eighth floor; Liberty and John on the sixth. The operating room staff and all the support personal I encountered. Thank you for an outstanding job in handling my nine-day stay.

I met not one individual I could find anything to complain about. The doctors were excellent and took the time to explain things to me, so that I understood what they were doing and why they were doing it. The PA’s that visited and actually treated me as a cared-for patient, not just another case. They all tried to brighten my day somewhat with every visit, even if it was for “just one little stick.”

I have never been treated better, but then again, I have tried to avoid hospitals. I will probably complain when the bill comes, as we are all prone to do, but I will still have a smile on my face when I remember these folks. Especially realizing I was just one among many. So, thank you doctors, nurses, PA’s, CNAs, lab folks, transporters, janitors and food service people. They made a difficult time for me oh so much better than it might have been.
