Charles Lee Craver, Jr.
CAMILLA - Charles Lee Craver, Jr. 89, of Camilla died Tuesday, May 20 at his residence.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 22 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla. Rev. Olen Cain and Rev. Jim Stansbury will officiate.
Born January 12, 1925 in Clemmons, N.C., Mr. Craver was the son of the late Charles Lee Craver, Sr. and Carrie Roosevelt Craver. Mr. Craver was a member of Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church of Panama City Beach, Fl. and attended Harmony Baptist Church in Pelham. He worked with the Albany Police Dept., Dougherty Co. Police Dept., and retired as Chief Deputy with the Dougherty Co. Sheriff’s Dept. He served 32 years in Law Enforcement.
Mr. Craver loved working in the yard and was known for his talent of painting landscapes of Georgia countrysides, Florida beach scenes, and Southern Landmarks. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jack R. Craver.
Survivors include his wife, Nelle Craver of Camilla; two daughters, Kim Hatcher (Julius) of Cotton Community and Linda Wynne of Durham, N.C.; two sons, Jack Craver (Misha) of Alexander City, AL. and Charles L. “Buddy” Craver, III (Marie) of Leesburg, GA.; Grandchildren, Laura Warren Grieb (Austin), Shannon Craver Matlaga (Michael), Jack L. Craver, Jr., Ken Wynne, Reid Wynne, and David S. Craver; and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 10 – 11 a.m. Thursday, prior to service at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home.
