Woman killed in Albany one-car accident

Driver dies when thrown from vehicle

ALBANY — Dougherty County police say 37-year-old Charity Howell was killed on Memorial Day in a one-car wreck on Gravel Hill Road.

Lt. Anthony Rogers with the Dougherty County Police Department said Howell was traveling north near Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church when the 2000 Honda Accord she was driving left the road and struck a culvert.

Howell was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dougherty County coroner, Rogers said.

According to Rogers, witnesses said Howell was traveling at a high rate of speed when the wreck occurred. No evidence of alcohol or drugs has been associated with the incident, Rogers said.
