Gang members surrender to Albany police

Three of five fugitives in custody of Albany police

ALBANY — Three of the five gang members sought by Albany Police have been captured or have turned themselves in, police officials say.

Official say Elijah Emmanuel Brown, 19, a member of 8 Tre’ CRIPS, and and Steve Leverette, 21, also of the CRIPS, surrendered to police around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brown is charged with probation violation with a case of aggravated assault pending, while Leverette was wanted on a battery charge, officials say.

According police spokeswoman Phyllis Banks, Tevin Tamoski Scott, 20, of the Black Mamba Rattlers was taken into police custody at 511 S. Harding Ave. Wednesday afternoon and officers were executing a search warrant at that address.

Corey Deion Wright, 18, of the South Side Blood, and Edwin Reaves, also known as She She, with the Black Mamba Rattlers, remain at large, officials say.

Banks said Wright is charged with probation violation, aggravated assault, criminal attempt to commit motor vehicle theft and criminal trespass, while Reaves is charged with criminal trespass, simple batter, probation violation and a pending case of aggravated assault.
