WHY HE’S HERE: As a freshman at Lee County last year, Gardner had a breakout season, averaging double figures in points. The sophomore will have an even better season this year.

HEIGHT: 6-foot-3

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Forward/Center

WHY HE’S HERE: There isn’t a position on the floor that Harris can’t play. The senior played in 26 games last year for the Tornadoes, averaging 7.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and a steal per game. Monroe’s feeds off his intensity.

ANFERNEE MCLEMORE

HEIGHT: 6-foot-7

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Forward

WHY HE’S HERE: The Auburn signee is one of the best defenders inside the paint. He isn’t bad with the ball either. The three-time Super 6er averaged 19 points and 11.8 rebounds per game last season. He also averaged 6.4 blocks per game.

BRANDON MOORE

HEIGHT: 6-foot-5

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Forward

WHY HE’S HERE: Moore has played in the shadows of teammate Anfernee McLemore, but there is nothing shabby about this guy. Last year, he averaged 19.5 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. He can shoot from anywhere.

DAVID QUIMBY

DOUGHERTY

HEIGHT: 6-foot-2

YEAR: Junior

POSITION: Guard

WHY HE’S HERE: Quimby has started since he was a freshman and is a player the Trojans can’t live without. Last year, he averaged 18 points, seven rebounds and seven assists per game to lead Dougherty’s offense.

ALEC WILLIAMS

WESTOVER

HEIGHT: 6-feet

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Guard

WHY HE’S HERE: Williams can score from the outside, find the open man or drive the lane and score himself. Last year, he averaged 14 points, seven assists and three rebounds per game. He will be the Patriots’ go-to-guy this year.

QUADRANIQUE FRANKLIN

PELHAM

HEIGHT: 5-foot-6

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Guard

WHY HE’S HERE: An unselfish player, Franklin sacrificed stats for points and victories. The senior averaged 10 points and six rebounds last season. She can take over the game from the perimeter.

BRYSHEA JACKSON

WESTOVER

HEIGHT: 5-foot-11

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Forward

WHY HE’S HERE: Jackson can score and pull down rebounds as she does so often. Jackson averaged 12 rebounds, eight points and four assists last year. Westover has no problem feeding the ball inside to her. She rarely fails to deliver.

CEKEYA MACK

HEIGHT: 6-foot-1

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Forward

WHY HE’S HERE:Mack should return to the form she showed in 2013-14 when she dominated inside. She missed all of last year with an injury. The senior can take over the game.

CALLIE SMITH

WESTWOOD

HEIGHT: 5-foot-8

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Guard

WHY HE’S HERE: There may not be a better shooter from the perimeter in Southwest Georgia than Smith. She averaged 17.4 points and three steals per game last year. She shot 50 percent from the floor and was an 89 percent free throw shooter, missing just four all season.

HEIGHT: 5-foot-10

YEAR: Junior

POSITION: Guard

WHY HE’S HERE: Thomas provides a major spark on a very good team. She averaged 10 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals per game last year. Without Thomas, Pelham doesn’t play in the Class AA semifinals.

LYNSEY WASHINGTON

MONROE

HEIGHT: 5-foot-7

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Guard

WHY HE’S HERE: Washington still held her own last year, sharing time in the backcourt with Key Key Price. She averaged 12 points per game and shot 56 percent from 3-point range. Washington is lethal when her perimeter game in on.
