Killed while on an air strike mission in 1966, remains of Col. William 'Earl' Cooper was positively identified in 2014

After his plane was hit by surface to air missles near a tiny village in North Vietnam over four decades ago, former Albany resident, and decorated Air Force pilot Col. William “Earl” Cooper was finally laid to rest last week at Arlington National Cemetary, giving peace to the members of his family who once believed they’d never receive closure.

Two men arrested in Worth County for separate assault incidents

Keithdrick Johnson, Demarcus Wright, arrested on assault charges in unrelated cases

Police officials said Keithdrick Johnson, 39, was arrested at 10:45 a.m. on Monday after turning himself in at the Worth County Sheriff’s Office. Sylvester police were looking for Johnson, who was wanted for aggravated assault, kidnapping, false imprisonment, aggravated sodomy and battery, in connection to an incident that took place in Sylvester on March 22.
