Annual recognition breakfast held to acknowledge former prisoners of war and those missing in action
As of Sept. 9, the Defense Prisoner of War Missing Personnel Office had a total of 83,189 personnel listed as unaccounted for from World War II onward. More than 73,000 were from World War II, 7,880 were from the Koren War, 126 were from the Cold War, 1,641 were from the Vietnam War and six were from Iraq and other conflicts.
MCLB-Albany Commanding Officer Col. Don Davis urged the crowd to remember the fallen of that day and the ones who have fallen since, so their deaths will not have been in vain.
