A previous survey was conducted in 2008, but officials said the newer study raised the concern over the change in condition of the underground natural gas pipeline and associated systems.

State representative presents Presidents Volunteer Service awards to Young Marines

On Nov. 15, state Rep. Winfred Dukes, D-Albany, presented each Young Marine with a Presidents Volunteer Service Award during a ceremony at the Base Theater as their families looked on. That same day, after the ceremony, Young Marine Gunnery Sgt. Danyel M. Tobias was presented an award for Young Marine of the Year for the First Regiment of Georgia.
