MCLB-ALBANY — Because of an inadequate number of qualified applicants applying for the summer intern laborer position for high school and college students at Marine Corps Logistics Command earlier this month, the job has been re-announced.

Roughly a dozen positions were available on Wednesday. Applications will be accepted through Friday. Those working the position will be expected to pack and unpack boxes and help with tornado recovery efforts at Marine Corps Logistics Base-Albany.

Officials said the majority of ineligible applicants failed to submit required documentation on the first round. Specifically, they failed to show their educational pursuits are ongoing. Examples of acceptable educational documentation include confirmation of registration for the fall semester of college or a letter from the high school career counselor validating continued education.

A high school report card is not considered proof of continuing educational documentation. Previous applicants who were initially found to be ineligible are encouraged to reapply.

The laborer position will pay $13.02 an hour. Student applicants must go to USAJOBS.gov and submit an electronic application, which includes uploading a resume or creating one in USAJOBS. The job announcement number is SW73401-011932296R1629188P.

Officials said it is imperative that applicants review the entire job announcement to ensure they complete the application process, as the job announcement annotates what supporting documentation must be submitted and will link to initial online questionnaires and competency-based assessments that may be required.
