Police say suspect arrested after depositing fraudulent checks

ALBANY — On Sept. 9, detectives arrested Dominique Rashad Geter, 20, for one count of forgery in the third degree and three counts of forgery in the fourth degree, according to the Albany Police Department.

Reports indicate that Geter went to Ameris Bank, located at 2111 East Oglethorpe Blvd., and deposited fraudulent checks into an account and then collected the money from the account.

According to officials, Geter has a history of fraudulent financial activity, which placed the bank on alert when they saw his name.

Geter was arrested and transported to the Dougherty County Jail, according to reports.
