HEALTH & FITNESS: Sleep requirements vary by individual, but getting enough for you is important
Eating and drinking late, along with late-night use of TV and electronic devices, can cause problems when trying to get a good night’s sleep.
A frequent question posed to me, and I imagine to others in the fitness industry, is “How can I avoid gaining weight over the holidays?”
The first step on the road to a healthy lifestyle is making up your mind to take that journey. Getting started is actually the easy part.
I’ve always loved the Christmas season. Mom always made at least a dozen types of cookies and it was the responsibility of the kids to deliver plates of homemade goodies to our neighbors.Obviously, we were able to sample the cookies as she made them.
Research clearly shows we all need to be physically active and everyone can receive some benefit from moving the body God gave us. However, the type of activity, the amount of time needed to achieve personal health goals and the support system needed to be successful varies greatly from one person to another. So the question is ... how does one get started and maintain an active lifestyle throughout their life?
