The Albany Welcome signs are a $600,000 partnership between the city and the Georgia Department of Transportation.
The first of four welcome signs is finished along Newton Road at the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport. The signs, which totalled $600,000, were a partnership between the Georgia Department of Transportation and the City of Albany. Half of the funding came from the state with the other half coming from sales tax revenues from SPLOST V.
