Darrick Johnson, 16, escaped injury today (Feb. 4, 2011) when a freight train collided with his Honda Accord as he crossed railroad tracks while traveling south on Madison Street at 1:50 p.m. Traffic was blocked on north-south routes from Madison to Washington Street for about an hour.

Traffic reopens after car/train collision (UPDATES AND ADDS PHOTO)

A teenage motorist escaped injury this afternoon when his car was slammed into by a freight train. Darrick Johnson, 16, said he was on his way to Darton when the train hit his 1994 Honda Accord as he crossed the tracks while traveling south on Madison Street. Traffic on north-south streets from Madison to Washington was closed for about an hour.
