The GISA Class A state championship series between Westwood and Crisp Academy begins Thursday at 1 p.m. in Cordele, while Deerfield's Class AAA title series against Westfield will start Friday at 5:30 p.m. in Perry.

Terrell Academy and Southland both had chances to advance Saturday in the GISa state playoffs, but both fall in decisive Game 3s to end their respective seasons.

The Westwood girls basketball team had never reached the Final Four in the school's 40-year history, but all that changed Friday night when coach Jenni Smith's team upset No. 1 seed Thomas Jefferson in overtime.
