Dougherty County Police Department officers at the fight corner with an Albany Police Department officer at the Pitt Stop, 3225 Sylvester Road, about 4:40 p.m. Saturday for a possible armed robbery. There were no reports of injuries. No other information was immediately available. The Pitt Stop has been robbed before. On Dec. 21, 2010, a Dougherty County Police Lt. was killed in the line of duty while tracking an armed robber from the Pitt Stop.

Attempted armed robbery at Albany curb store
Dougherty County Police are at the Pit Stop curb store at 3225 Sylvester Road, the scene of an attempted armed robbery at 4:40 p.m. Apparently two men wearing masks, one red, the other blue, attempted the robbery, but ran away. Police are currently looking for them.
