The smashed hulk of a white Chevrolet pickup truck waits to be hauled away by a wrecker on Slappey Boulevard at Whispering Pines Road before 4:45 p.m. Tuesday. The driver was extricated from the wreck by Albany Fire Department emergency personnel.

Amy Collier, 20, drove her 2000 Ford Expedition north on Slappey Boulevard into a 2002 Chevrolet S10 pickup as she made a left turn onto Whispering Pines, according to an Albany Police Department report.
