Reigning Peach Belt Player of the Year Phillip Brown, of Georgia Southwestern, told The Herald on Saturday that despite tearing his MCL a week ago, he may still be able to return this season to help the Hurricanes defend their West Division Championship. Injured GSW star Brown may still return to help struggling Hurricanes
GSW’s men’s basketball team is mired in a slump right now, including a tough home loss Saturday to Francis Marion, and things won’t get any easier with leading scorer Phillip Brown going down last week with a torn MCL, although Brown told The Herald on Saturday he is optimistic he will return this year — his final season wearing the blue and gold.
