When he captured the gold medal in 2008, Vincent Hancock won it in a shoot off, going a perfect 4-for-4 on his targets. Hancock was in similar form at the recent U.S. trials, hitting 270 of 275 possible targets to win and secure his Olympic bid.

Eatonton’s Vincent Hancock, who won gold in skeet shooting for the U.S. four years ago in Beijing with his wife, Leesburg’s Rebekah Hancock, by his side, is aiming for glory once again at the 2012 Summer Games, which begin Friday in London. Although, a lot has happened in Hancock’s life since 2008 — including a depressing injury, a loss of confidence in his shot, being shuffled around by the Army and shifting his focus to becoming a dad. But somehow Hancock has found his groove again — and that means the rest of the world had better watch out.
