U.S. women’s soccer star Alex Morgan, center, beats France’s Wendie Renard for a goal during Wednesday’s Olympic soccer opener for both teams in Group G in London. Morgan scored two goals as the Americans rallied from a 2-0 hole early in the game to score four unanswered and win easily, 4-2.

The opening ceremonies for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games may not be until Friday, but the action officially kicks off Wednesday when the reigning champion U.S. women’s soccer team downs France, 4-2.
