Dr. Charles B. Gillespie was on a visit to China when he saw history being made as his group’s bus was suddenly surrounded by 30,000 people during the Chinese uprising. “We went from there to Tiananmen Square,” he said. “We were surrounded by a million people, and it was quite a sensation to do that.”
