Albany QB Emanuel Byrd and the Indians (1-4 overall, 0-2 in Region 1-AAAA) are having a down year but Byrd — ever the optimist — refuses to hang his head. After all, he’s had a life tougher than most — his mother died when he was six, for starters — but he continues to plug along and excel in the classroom and on the football field.
