MCLB-ALBANY — Marine Corps Logistics Base-Albany will host its annual Buddy Fishing Tournament on Saturday. The event is for children younger than 16 years old who are accompanied by an adult.

Registration starts at 7 a.m. the day of the event. The tournament will last from 8-10 a.m. Participants should bring their own bait and fishing tackle.

The tourney is free, open to the public and attendees are not required to have a fishing license.

The children can keep all the fish they catch, but they must do all the fishing themselves. The boys and girls who catch the biggest fish will be awarded trophies afterward.

Due to increased force protection conditions in place, all adult visitors without normal base access will be required to provide identification, such as a valid driver’s license, registration and insurance, at the main gate. All attendees are encouraged to arrive early for proper processing and are reminded that bringing any weapons, drugs or alcohol on base is prohibited. Also, all fishing equipment (coolers, tackle boxes and the like) will be subject to search.
