Fair corralls rodeo

PERRY — The 18th annual Georgia National Rodeo will be returning to the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter this week.

The rodeo, which is sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, features specialty acts and cowboys and cowgirls from across the country competing in saddle bronco riding, bareback riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, bull riding and barrel racing.

Points earned at the Georgia National Rodeo will qualify riders for the National Finals Rodeo held every December in Las Vegas.

The Georgia National Rodeo was named a Southeast Tourism Society Top 20 Event for the Month of February this year, as it has been every year since 2004.

Ticket costs vary each night of the rodeo. Thursday night adult elevated seats are $9 and child elevated seats are $7. Adult box seats are $18 and child box seats are $14. Friday night adult elevated seats are $14 and child elevated seats are $11. Adult box seats are $18 and child box seats are $14. On Saturday night adult elevated seats are $16 and child elevated seats are $12. Adult box seats are $20 and child box seats are $15.
