Easter Egg hunts easy to find
Southwest Georgians have plenty of opportunities to attend the spring holiday tradition.

ALBANY — Easter may come early this year, but Southwest Georgians can still enjoy the fun of hunting for Easter eggs.

Below is a list of several such opportunities throughout Southwest Georgia this weekend:

• Adel — 2 p.m.-3 p.m. Sunday at Reed Bingham State Park. Admission $3 for parking. For ages 12 and under, with age groups divided. Some 2,000 eggs will be hidden, and prize eggs are available for each age group.

• Albany — 10 a.m. Saturday at the Parks at Chehaw, with subsequent hunts held each half hour, with the last one at 12:30 p.m. Free with park admission. Hunts for ages 0-4 and 5-10. All eggs will be redeemed for candy. Additional attractions include games and prizes.

• Ashburn — Two hunts, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday at Calhoun Produce, 5075 Hawpond Road. Participants divided into age groups to hunt for 3,000 candy-filled eggs. • Bainbridge — 11 a.m. Saturday at Earl May Boat Basin. For more information, call (229) 248-2000.

• Cordele — 10 a.m. Saturday at Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park behind park office. Fee is $1 per participant. Hunt is for ages 8 and under. Participants divided into three groups: ages 6-8, 3-5, and 2 and under. The Cordele Kiwanis Club will provide more than 2,700 candy-filled plastic eggs. • Fort Gaines — 10 a.m. Saturday on Georgia Highway 39 North, across from the Corp. of Engineers Office. For ages 9 and under. For more information, call (229) 768-2247.

• Pine Mountain — 2 p.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at Callaway Gardens’ Robin Lake Beach. Hunts separated into age groups. Includes games, Easter bonnet contest and face painting. For more information, call (800) 225-5292 or visit www.callawaygardens.com.

• Thomasville — 4 p.m. Saturday at Remington Complex next to Butler Mason YMCA. For more information, call (229) 226-0133.
