Stranger’s prayer a gentle reminder

On the night of Oct. 8, a complete stranger saw that I was upset and overheard me say I was worried about my two young children having surgery the next morning. Right in the parking lot of Winn Dixie on Highway 19, this stranger asked if I believe in prayer. She then took my hand and my oldest son’s hand and prayed for my two younger children. She then gave me a big hug and told me what I’ve always known but sometimes don’t do ... give it to God because he can’t do anything with it if you don’t.

Well, to that special angel, I want to not only say thank you, but let you know my children came through the surgery beautifully. Although it was not a life or death situation, the devil was really playing on my fears these past few weeks. We had the prayers of all our friends and family, for which I am very grateful. But when a total stranger notices someone is hurting or worried and offers to pray right in the middle of a grocery store parking lot, that is nothing more than God very clearly telling you, ”Hey, I’ve got this.”

I didn’t get your name, but thank you so much for your kind words and prayer. It is something I will never forget. May God bless you and your family!
