DAWSON — Terrell Academy coach Bill Murdock’s Eagles assured Crisp Academy of an early bedtime.

Quarterback Keaton Icard threw for two touchdowns and ran for one, while Cole Byrd, Caleb White, Scotty Bishop, Ryan Ambrose and Levi Griffin all added touchdowns in the first half to flip the switch and say goodnight to the Wildcats with a 47-0 lead at halftime.

That’s how it would end as the Eagles improved to 1-0 in GISA Region 2-A and 5-1 overall.

“Our kids got off to a really good start,” Murdock said. “We took control of the game early. We took care of business.”

Leading the way for the Eagles, Griffin ran for 124 yards on 14 carries, while Ambrose finished right at the century mark with 12 carries.

Icard was 3-4 for 87 yards passing as back-up Cole Phillips filled in with a completion for 15 yards.

The Eagles return to the field Thursday again in region action at Dawson Street Christian at 7:30 p.m.
