A week after notching their first win, the Bulldogs ran wild Friday night, trampling the Albany Indians, 49-6, at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The lopsided Region 1-AA contest marked the second straight time the mercy rule was forced by a Thomasville scoring explosion. The Bulldogs (2-4, 2-1) erupted for 40 first-half points in a 40-6 route of Early County. They were almost as good against the Tribe (2-4, 1-2), posting 35 points in the first 24 minutes.
The Bulldogs never let the Indians get on track. Albanys first possession ended when Freddrick Holton picked off a Barry Diamond pass and returned it 72 yards along the home sideline for a touchdown.
Albanys only score was a 90-yard kickoff return by Dontavious Brown with 27 seconds remaining.
The Indians were limited to just 108 total yard . Brown rushed for 6 and Albany netted only 13 yards through the air.
WINDSOR 33, SGA 20:
Southwest Georgia Academy did not leave Macon without a fight.
At the half, Windsor Academy led 20-0, and it looked like it would only get worse. But the Warriors came out strong in the second half and pulled within six before the Knights scored to seal a 33-20 victory.
Though the Warriors (2-4, 1-1 in GISA Region 3-AA) managed just 85 total yards in the first half, Miles Lee tossed a 19-yard touchdown pass to Taylor Tabb early in the second to get the Warriors going. Then, Keaton Smith punched in two touchdowns to make it 27-20 with eight minutes to play.
After consecutive punts by either side, Windsor methodically moved downfield on a 9-play, 74-yard drive that resulted in the game-clinching touchdown.
