ASU’s Flakes named SIAC Player of the Week
Not only did ASU’s Kisan Flakes bag co-Offensive Player of the Week but his Rams are still very much alive for the playoffs.

ALBANY — Albany State quarterback Kisan Flakes was named the SIAC’s Co-Offensive Player of the week after producing 340 yards total offense (269 passing, 71 rushing) and completing 18-of-19 passes for four touchdowns during the Rams’ 31-7 victory against Fort Valley State in Saturday’s Fountain City Classic.

The Rams’ Pedro Bennett also earned Offensive Lineman of the Week honors, grading out at 96 percent on an offensive line that helped produce 467 yards total offense (273 passing, 194 rushing) against the Wildcats. ASU defensive end Develle Miller received an honorable-mention nod with six tackles (five solo) during the win.

Along with those honors, ASU moved from eighth to seventh in the NCAA Divsion II Super Regional Two rankings. If the Rams defeat Miles on Saturday, they will likely remain among the region’s Top 8 and advance to the NCAA Division II playoffs.
