WILCOX — Leading, 20-12, going into the fourth quarter, all eyes fixed on Seminole County and whether the Indians could pull the stunning upset of undefeated and Class AA No. 2 Wilcox County.

But thanks to Wilcox’s Antonio Marshall, all that legendary Seminole County coach Alan Ingram took from this one was another story to tell.

Marshall, Wilcox’s normal starting QB who was injured Friday, did not come into the game until the second half, but he made an immediate difference, throwing for one TD and running for two more to lead Wilcox to a 34-20, come-from-behind win to stay alive and improve to 11-0.

“It was a great game,” Ingram said. “We just couldn’t get anything going in the second half.”

Seminole jumped out early as Chris Virgin scored the Indians’ first TD from 25 yards out on a run. Wilcox scored twice after that to take the lead as Tyrell Miller and Ronnie Outlaw both recorded TDs, but the Indians answered right back.

Before halftime, the Indians scored twice more and went into the locker room ahead, 20-12.

However, it was the Antonio Marshall Show in the second half as the star QB came off the bench and rushed for 69 yards on 26 carries. Wilcox also capitalized on two late Seminole County fumbles — one of a kickoff and the other on a botched handoff — and scored both times.

However, Ingram refused to let the win overshadow an amazing Indians season that started out anything but.

“To start 0-4 and finish like this, we sure turned this thing around,” said Ingram, whose team finishes 5-6. “And if that’s the No. 2 team in the state in our class .. well .. then we’re not that far behind.”
