Billy Joe Price, 43, of Lee County was pronounced dead just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dougherty County Coroner Emma Quimbley said.
Cause of death, according to Quimbley, was a gunshot wound believed to have been caused by a shotgun found at the scene.
Quimbley said she will not send the body to the state crime lab in Atlanta for an autopsy, but did say that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was collecting evidence at the scene.
