Thank you Sister Ruby. You have said it all and even though many of us have worked all our lives to have something, that will soon be gone. Example: the recent book signing and the moderator for that event. Every working American had better watch their back, front and sides until true Americans can replace the problems we have in Congress and State Government through elections.
Hooray for Albany. A panhandler comes into your place of business, disrupts the entire establishment and the owner, assistant manager and a waitress goes to jail for protecting their business and customers. JUSTICE at it's finest. As a law enforcement officer for 40+ years, we were required to get all the facts from all involves before locking up SELECTED people. Alvin, the majority of law abiding citizens are backing you 100%.
Way to go Sheriff. The only problem you will have is the County Attorney and he will bargain away so much of it or have to hire other attorneys to represent your law suit. This will hurt your chances of recovering what is rightfully the monies owed to your department. This is normal for the leadership that your department and others have to fall in and I am referring to the entire County Commisssion, County Administrator and others that have attempted to gut your department and others.
Best of luck Kevin, we all have the utmost respect for you and your department.
MRKIA is right on part of it, they will not be hard to find now. As far as the Judge's decision to put ankle monitors on this type thug, it has proven in the past it will not work and it never will. The real problem is the police officers that put their lives on the line every day against person that have no value on human life and there is only one way to stop this. FIGURE THIS ONE OUT FOR YOURSELF.
God protect the officers that put their lives on the line everyday so each of us can have the freedom to live a normal life.
I will agree with the Squawk except the real story needs to be heard. These officer must appear in Municipal Court for these citations where many are dismissed by the Judge because it is their word against the defendant. Yes, some are required to appear after a long shift the night before and the being paid part, questionable. Cameras in each patrol unit would help, but you still have the question before the Judge. A point to be made: remember when the APD Officers were working the school zone on Gillionville and Magnolia, have you seen them recently? The reason: they caught the wrong one and after that complaint, no APD Officers. I could tell of more, but enought is enought.
Any response with additional facts would be appreciated.
"Bodine" Sinyard is at his stupid request again. Salaries, benefits, and equipment are needed by every department in County government and he is wanting to keep that "fish bowl" in tip-top shape. The small percentage (% ) of tax payers that suport this county are "BROKE" except for a few and let the few suport your "fish bowl" Sinyard. If you want it so bad, pay for it, you can afford it. You and Crowdis have been anti-empoyee since I can remember and why not allocate for the employee, they are the backbone of County and City government, so let them know it instead of hurting them.
As far as ADDU, you will not find a finer group of officers that you can trust and under the leadership of their Commander, it will remain that way. As far as reporting "who" called, that is a flat out "lie". I remember hundreds of calls that my former department received (not APD) and I have never heard anyone complain that their identification was released by ADDU. Trust them, get involved with your surroundings and report any activity tht does not appear to be normal and this whole town will begin to see a big difference.
I am willing to bet that the majority that are complaining DO NOT pay one red penny in school taxes when families like mine are paying a large tax bill and have never had a child in public schools in Dougherty County. Let the DCSC do their job because if any schools are going to be closed, it will make a certain group mad, but save tax payers (18%) money and that 18% are the ones educating these young people. As long as a school can have the space and teachers to educate these young people, then send them to that school. When I was growing up, I rode a school bus many miles to get a education and the educating of our young people is all that counts.
Emily Jean knows this is a no-win situation and is only trying to please the City-County Commissioners by taking this place over. This I commend her for, but when there is nothing to work with, then shut it down. State monies built it, so call Deal and tell him this is his baby, we don't want it even with the so-called agreement. Sue us, everybody else does. Let "Bodine" and the Mayor manage it, they have plenty of money and certainly have the time.
The traffic division with APD are doing a wonderful job with the limited resources they have and that is mainly personnel. If the city and county would pay the officers a salary they could support their families on, you would see a better and more dedicated group of officers. Give them credit for their working under conditions that you don't have to live under and when you have a problem, who do you call? Quit your complaining and support these officers.
