I'd say she has already started representing the black race, Citizen1. Not to sound rude, insensitive, or prejudice (b/c that is not my intent), most blacks have been known to vote democrat. So, by choosing the democrat ballot, they knowingly or unknowingly voted Dr. Price. By choosing a republican ballot, they would have voted for Dr. Brown. ALSO, for you to state that she will not be able to represent all races is absurd and really shows your level of ignorance. If you thought Dr. Williams-Brown would represent all races you, sir/ma'am, are a fool. She has already proven that she did not speak for all, and the people have already backed me up on that statement by their votes. As quoted by Malcom X "Anytime you see someone more successful than you are, they are doing something you aren't."
While I believe that this is a wonderful thought, and I agree that it would be beautiful, the city leaders of Downtown Albany could not even properly monitor or keep our Veteran's Memorial from being defaced. No one has even been caught for that horrific crime, even with rewards as an incentive! Now, we can have a gorgeous painting but I wonder how long it will take the thugs of this crime ridden city to deface this?! I am willing to bet that after the painting is completed, visitors will return to see graffiti and gang symbols plastered all over that piece of art. Unfortunately, until the crime is under control in that area, I feel that this is a waste of money, time and effort. Not to mention, if this is city funds that will be funding this project, it would be best to use those funds elsewhere. Some place that can actually benefit from tax payers dollars.
